Another Day & Another Year for Tom

Well, Tom had his 43rd on Tuesday. Hard to believe, but also hard to avoid. We had a pretty relaxing evening...ribeyes on the BBQ and Brittany's choir concert where she played the bongos. She was so intent, it was fun to watch.

We were at Jayson's baseball game on Wednesday, when we were approached by one of the coaches for the 9-10 year old basketball team that will be competing in the Utah Summer Games in Cedar City, Utah. He invited Jayson to be part of this local "All-Star" team that will participate in a 3 day tournament, and will begin practicing on Monday, June 1st. (which is also the day that Brittany tries out for the next community play...The Jungle Book) I don't have any further deets on the basketball thing, but hope to know more at the first practice.

Thing 1 & Thing 2--In The News

The kids like to make the local news. See what they've been up to!

Brooks4Kids

Brittany is going into 7th grade. She is almost as tall as I am, and is involved in our community theater, where she loves to use her dramatic tendencies onstage. She was recently Cruella De'Vil in the stage production of 101 Dalmatians. She also loves to sing, and she just auditioned for and made it onto her junior high Show Choir.

Jayson also likes the stage, but his passion lays in sports...he loves all of them, but his favorite is basketball. He is the current Nevada state champion in free-throw shooting, and nearly made it to Nationals in Massachusetts, but missed it by one shot in a double shoot-off, where he finished in the Western Regional competition with 29 out of 35. He is also part of a school team of 4 boys who took 1st place in the state Stock Market Challenge. His team beat out over 600 teams in the 3rd thru 5th grade levels to win by investing pretend money into the actual stock market... pretty crazy, but a lot of fun!

Both of my kids are great, and I am so blessed in my life.
